Monster Island, The Asylum’s 2019 mockbuster, was released at the same time as Godzilla King of the Monsters. It is about an island called Monster Island on which a monster might be found; the monster is, of course, Monster Island.


This film is about an asylum and has a budget similar to a large child's meal. It uses it light, focusing on just a few characters and filming in one location during lunch breaks. We must not forget that this movie is a kaiju film and they do well in that regard so maybe The Asylum will be a good choice.
